ACE HARDWARE IN MARION, KS

Durable, light reflective, and easily maintained, polished concrete is one of the most popular flooring choices in commercial and educational settings today. With no surface coating or covering that can chip or peel away, and by utilizing the existing concrete, it is easy to see why concrete polishing is considered "green". Dyes, stencilled designs, and decorative saw cuts can be added to create a custom surface that will compliment any setting, whether it be in a business, home, or school.

The Process:

Step 1: Clean out and fill cracks and seams in the concrete with polurea joint filler.
Step 2: Grind the concrete with 30-40 grit metal bonded diamonds.
Step 3: Grind the concrete with 80 grit metal bonded diamonds.
Step 4: Hone or tighten the scratch pattern with 50 grit hybrid metal/resin bonded diamonds.
Step 5: Polish the floor with 100 grit hybrid metal/resin bonded diamonds.
Step 6: Polish the floor with 200 grit resin bonded diamonds.
Step 7: At this point we can dye the floor. We generally densify or harden the concrete at this step also.
Step 8: Polish the floor with 400 grit resin bonded diamonds
Step 9: Polish the floor with 800 grit resin bonded diamonds.
Step 10: Polish the floor with 1500 grit resin bonded diamonds.
Step 11: Apply a topical or penetrating stainguard.
